About the position

The Senior Systems Analyst at Banner Defense will provide technical assistance to the Director of M&S Enterprise Engineering, focusing on design reviews, architecture standards, and managing Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). This role is crucial in synchronizing Modeling and Simulation (M&S) efforts across the organization, contributing to the defense and aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyst duties to elicit stakeholder requirements and mission needs
  • Define requirements and perform functional analysis using Model-based Systems Engineering techniques and tools
  • Draft and review technical documents
  • Support technical reviews
  • Facilitate M&S and digital engineering transformation initiatives
  • Represent Enterprise Engineering in agency tiger teams and working groups

Requirements

  • Master's degree with 12+ years of related professional experience OR a bachelor's degree and 20+ years of related experience
  • Background in at least two of the following: Missile Defense System (MDS) domain experience working in MDA with analysis, test, and systems engineering for one or more elements of the MDS (i.e. Patriot, THAAD, GMD, Sensors, or C2)
  • Experience with definition, design, development, verification and validation, and analysis of M&S (ground test and constructive or distributed virtual simulation of the MDS and its elements and components)
  • Practical experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and other languages typically used for M&S (i.e. MATLAB)
  • Active Secret Clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or Ph. D. in applicable field desired
  • Exposure to MDA test events and activities supported by M&S products and services
  • Creative thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking, strategic thinking and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers (geographically diverse) of different perspectives, skillsets and backgrounds
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical and non-MBSE trained people
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to propose and execute project plans that align with gov't customer strategic goals
  • Experience with Lean and Agile principles and development processes.
