The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solving complex system integration and engineering issues, and will thrive in a dynamic, responsive, and collaborative environment. In this position, the Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical inputs and evaluate subsystem and system specifications, as well as technical documentation, including data, test plans, and reports. This support is crucial for the sustainment of the Simulator/Training System. The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating technical risks, assessing contractor efforts, monitoring performance progress, and resolving technical problems that may arise during the project lifecycle. The role involves analyzing technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility, as well as supporting the Airworthiness Certification Working Group. This includes developing and maintaining a comprehensive Modification Airworthiness Criteria Certification compliance package and conducting airworthiness risk assessments. The Senior Systems Engineer will plan and support the execution of Airworthiness Review Board Meetings to obtain Military Flight Release (MFR) and Military Type Certificates (MTC). Additionally, the candidate will produce draft technical or acquisition documentation as required by programmatic needs, taking into account cost, schedule, and performance. They will develop reports and briefings, participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (including SRR, PDR, FCA, PCA, etc.), providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools is necessary for developing and publishing products for senior executive review, coordination, and approval. The Senior Systems Engineer will establish timelines for both quick-turn and longer-term projects, tracking progress through to completion. They will also prepare senior leaders for meetings and engagements, ensuring that all relevant information is conveyed and understood to support discussions and decision-making. Engaging with customers at both working and senior levels is a key aspect of this role, as is the ability to develop and execute project/program plans from tasking through to completion using common IT tools and practices. Professional writing skills, including the ability to create Staff Summary Sheets (SSS), are essential for success in this position. Other duties may be assigned by management as needed.
