About the position

Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) is seeking a Sr. System Network Administrator to support the Tupelo, MS office. This position will involve both remote and on-site troubleshooting and support of complex Data Center solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all network infrastructure systems and equipment. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. The Sr. System Network Administrator will work on projects as a team member or individually and will function independently or under the direction of senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing existing networks and equipment and identifying opportunities for improvement and solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Maintaining Cisco environment, including LAN, WAN, and Wireless Environments.
  • Participating in the installation of network systems and equipment for new facilities and expansions.
  • Decommissioning equipment at facilities that are closing, including all hardware, cabling, and circuits.
  • Testing, debugging, and analyzing performance, and documenting infrastructure components.
  • Complying with network infrastructure installation procedures to ensure successful integration of systems hardware/software.
  • Monitoring and analyzing network and providing results on a regular basis.
  • Recommending corrective action to improve data network; traveling to off-site locations to perform related work.
  • Responding to emergency situations and performing effective troubleshooting during production outages.
  • Assisting in guiding, training, instructing, and assisting others at peer or lower levels on straightforward technical issues.
  • Making recommendations of network and documentation changes.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quantum's policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS degree preferred in Computer Science/ IT, MIS, Systems Administration, Engineering or equivalent field of study with 10 years of experience within a Cisco environment.
  • In lieu of degree, 4 years plus experience preferred to include certifications may be accepted with experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with implementing CISCO routers/switches.
  • Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Experience implementing and supporting load balancing solutions desired.
  • Experience with implementing and supporting OSPF, BGP, HSRP and other protocols.
  • Experience designing, integrating and supporting wide area networks with multiple remote locations.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework.
  • Knowledge/experience in Active Directory, Linux, server monitoring, and MS 365 system administration functions.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOD security clearance.

  • Applicable Certifications include any of the following: A+, Security+, Net+, Linux+, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP.
