The Senior Systems Administrator (Linux Team Lead) at GovCIO is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, including both hardware and software components, in a networked or stand-alone environment. This role involves maintaining system integrity, upgrading systems, and implementing changes to improve network and system operations. The position requires collaboration with various technical teams to resolve issues and enhance system performance, while also planning for transitions to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Provide regular monitoring and analysis for in-house systems planning.
• Prepare and ensure appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
• Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
