About the position

The Senior Systems Administrator (Linux Team Lead) at GovCIO is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, including both hardware and software components, in a fully remote environment. This role involves maintaining system integrity, upgrading systems, and implementing changes to enhance network/system operations. The position requires collaboration with various technical teams to resolve issues and improve system performance, while also planning for transitions to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Provide regular monitoring and analysis for short and long-range planning of in-house systems.
• Prepare and ensure appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
• Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or commensurate experience.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
