About the position

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role involves managing IT system infrastructure, providing support for day-to-day operations, and resolving issues related to various devices and systems. The position requires a strong background in both UNIX and Windows operating systems, along with the ability to analyze and optimize system operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers regarding escalated issues.
• Support the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installation and troubleshooting of operating system software.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management for escalated tickets.

Requirements

• Typically requires ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Administrator on similar programs and contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level II or higher.
