About the position

The Senior Systems Analyst at Bausch + Lomb is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the BlueYonder/JDA Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Labor Management at the company's Global Distribution Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. This position is integral to aligning software efforts with business objectives, ensuring that both business and IT needs are met effectively. The analyst will work closely with the leadership team at the site and collaborate with IT teams at other locations to facilitate seamless operations. In this role, the Senior Systems Analyst will perform various IT activities under the guidance of the IT Director for North America. This includes working directly with the vendor of the Warehouse Management Software to report and resolve any issues that arise. The analyst will also be responsible for developing and implementing enhancements and other software work requests, ensuring that these are completed within the agreed-upon schedule and performance metrics. Communication is key, as the analyst will need to inform management of system problems and coordinate the resolution of these issues. Additionally, adherence to change management activities is crucial to maintain SOX compliance, ensuring that the system is always audit-ready. The role also encompasses supporting the network and infrastructure for the site, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity around the clock. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work independently, as well as the flexibility to provide support outside of regular hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IT activities to support the Warehouse Management System under direction from the IT Director, North America.
  • Work with the vendor of the Warehouse Management Software system to report and resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement enhancements and other software work requests within agreed upon schedule and performance.
  • Communicate system problems to the management and coordinate resolution of those problems.
  • Adhere to change management activities to ensure systems stay SOX compliant.
  • Ensure system is always audit-ready.
  • Perform IT activities to support the network and infrastructure for the site to ensure minimal downtime round the clock.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in BlueYonder/JDA WMS implementation and support.
  • Strong experience in developing pages using Page Builder, creating and updating Jasper reports, writing MOCA commands, Interface design, XMLs, creating and updating labels using Nice Labels.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Oracle and MS SQL Server creating scripts, functions, stored procedures.
  • Working knowledge of handheld RF devices, networked label printers and barcoding technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to build credibility quickly.
  • Flexible and reliable to provide support out of hours as/when needed.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related experience required.
  • Experience working in FDA (or similar) regulated environment.
  • Highly cross-functional skills.
  • Experience in interfacing BlueYonder/JDA with SAP and/or other systems.
