About the position

The Senior SIGINT Systems Engineer position at Apex Systems involves providing technical direction and support for systems engineering activities related to SIGINT and digital communications. The role requires a strong background in systems engineering principles, particularly in a government software development context, and the ability to work collaboratively within a highly integrated team. The position demands effective communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including customers and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, system and operational requirements, interface architecture and ConOps, and requirement/system validation.
  • Support definition of operations concepts and procedure planning/development, interfacing with personnel from other organizations.
  • Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software teams and test personnel.
  • Attend technical interchange meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in project maintenance matters.
  • Define external and internal interfaces.
  • Provide document review and resolve technical systems engineering and integration issues.
  • Support ECP efforts as required.
  • Provide support in a software development systems engineering role using Agile methodology.
  • Interact with customers and end-users.
  • Provide and brief status to program management and customers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with generating DoDAF architecture views with Cameo.
  • Experience with Agile or DevOps development.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities on a large government software development contract.
  • Experience being part of a highly integrated team working closely with Software and Integration teams.
  • Experience in SIGINT and/or Digital communications.
  • Experience in the RF domain.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of administration.
