About the position

Join Collins Aerospace, a leader in advanced technology and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry, as a Senior Systems Engineer within our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team. In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing the Auto Trac II Product Line for the Australian Defense Air Traffic System (ADATS). Your responsibilities will include providing technical support, defining and analyzing requirements, and contributing to system development and validation. You will actively participate in daily scrum meetings and manage tasks in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will define and derive system engineering requirements, including interface definitions and requirement verification and validation. Your contributions will be vital to the systems engineering team working on the new ADATS LOTE contract, where you will develop innovative solutions in air traffic management. You will address customer issues by developing system and product-level requirements, ensuring that solutions meet their needs. Additionally, you will create sell-off criteria to effectively verify requirements and ensure project success. Responsibilities

  • Define and derive system engineering requirements, including interface definitions and requirement verification and validation.
  • Support operations concept definition and procedure planning, collaborating with personnel from various organizations.
  • Contribute to the systems engineering team working on the new ADATS LOTE contract.
  • Develop system and product-level requirements to address customer issues and ensure solutions meet their needs.
  • Create sell-off criteria to effectively verify requirements and ensure project success.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings and manage tasks in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Play a key role in modernizing air traffic control systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in systems engineering, including expertise in requirements decomposition, flow-down, and verification.
  • Prior experience with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience generating and delivering technical documentation to stakeholders, including drafting, reviewing, and updating materials.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
  • Willingness to obtain FAA clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.
  • Experience working in small teams to achieve program cost and schedule objectives.
  • Familiarity with Agile Development Processes.
