About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer (Automated Test Engineer) at RTX Corporation is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a test automation strategy to enhance the efficiency of regression testing. This role involves analyzing existing tests, integrating manual tests into automated processes, and performing routine integration, verification, and testing tasks to ensure system capabilities meet objectives. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering and test execution within a DevSecOps environment, along with a commitment to supporting national defense efforts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current regression tests and develop a strategy to increase test automation for nightly execution.
• Integrate relevant pieces from existing manual tests into nightly regression tests.
• Perform routine Integration, Verification, & Test (IV&T) tasks to support execution of PI objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Postgres and SQL databases for complex queries.
• Knowledge of scripting languages including bash, perl, and python, and ability to query Oracle DB and MongoDB.
• Experience in a DevSecOps environment supporting software-based system development and integration.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to communicate execution status against technical requirements.
• Active U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI with SSBI Poly security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Systems Engineering (SE) or Test Execution (TE) experience on large government software development contracts.
• Experience with SE process development and deployment.
• Familiarity with configuration management concepts and tools.
• Experience with Gherkin and Cucumber.
