About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Columbia Technology Partners involves analyzing user requirements and system architectures to develop specifications and lead design and development activities. The role requires providing technical leadership, guiding users in formulating requirements, and ensuring the technical integrity of deliverables. The engineer will interact with government personnel, manage system requirements, and contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with established standards and stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user's requirements and develop system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development activities for system integration.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Develop technical documentation and system architecture documentation.
  • Manage system requirements to ensure compatibility with defined system architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from various meetings requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on operational considerations.
  • Generate alternative system concepts and design solutions that satisfy system requirements.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures and integrated master plans.
  • Establish and manage changes to requirements, ensuring traceability and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.
  • Provide technical direction for the development and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in similar programs and contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Familiarity with Service-oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance Services and Security Mechanism Technology.
