About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer - Desktop Support role at V2X involves providing advanced engineering and Tier III systems administration support for government clients. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and focuses on managing and deploying Windows environments, ensuring effective endpoint management, and mentoring the IT Enterprise Desktop Support team. The engineer will work independently and collaboratively across teams to deliver comprehensive IT solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and Tier III systems administration functions throughout all stages of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Build machine images and conduct software deployments.
  • Configure hardware and manage operating systems for enterprise-wide endpoint management.
  • Implement automated mechanisms for maintenance and support.
  • Prioritize projects and gather requirements for end-user computing solutions.
  • Develop, secure, deploy, administer, and document engineering solutions.
  • Mentor the IT Enterprise Desktop Support team on IT-related requests and deployments.
  • Support a wide array of systems, applications, and services across various IT platforms.
  • Enforce consistent configurations and end-user experiences using commercial and custom toolsets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or relevant certifications (CompTIA Security +ce, GSEC, SSCP).
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration and engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft management tools (MCEM, SCCM, etc.).
  • Expertise in diagnostics and analyses using Microsoft PowerShell.
  • Experience operating in secure processing environments using DISA STIGs and SRGs.
  • Proficient in configuring and administering Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience providing desktop support services across various IT platforms.
  • Knowledge of patching Microsoft and third-party operating systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS/MS in computer science or 10 years of experience with MCEM or SCCM.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MDAA).
  • Familiarity with supporting escalated tickets from a Service Desk team.
  • Experience remediating IA and INFOSEC findings using compliance scans.
