About the position

As a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Hardware Systems at Aurora, you will play a pivotal role in the development and integration of safety- and mission-critical hardware and software systems. Your expertise in hardware architecture and engineering will be essential as you collaborate closely with engineering design teams to create sound and implementable design concepts and requirements. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment, where teamwork and communication are key to aligning various stakeholders and guiding implementation decisions across different disciplines. In this role, you will define requirements at the system, subsystem, and hardware module levels, working in collaboration with internal stakeholders, external OEM partners, and suppliers. Your key focus areas will include power and allied systems, where you will act as an owner for driving technical discussions and ensuring alignment on functional requirements. You will manage requirement traceability and decomposition, oversee change control processes, and develop Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify gaps in requirements and recommend necessary design actions. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing design documents that evaluate new features and architectures, facilitating cross-functional system development activities, and developing verification and validation test plans. Your ability to execute system-level testing and perform log analysis will be crucial in demonstrating coverage against existing requirements and informing new ones. You will also prepare and present technical reports for management, showcasing your findings and recommendations based on your analyses and testing outcomes.
