About the position

Volant Partners, Inc is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to assist clients in the development and deployment of their products and hardware. This role requires a strong systems engineering background and excellent organizational skills to manage complex projects effectively. The position involves a hybrid work model, combining remote work with onsite responsibilities, primarily targeting candidates in the greater Seattle area or those willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Author technical specifications
• Conduct requirement elicitation and decomposition
• Allocate and track requirements
• Manage hardware integration and verification activities
• Participate in process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, electrical, computer science or related technical course of study
• Minimum of 5+ years of engineering or consulting experience
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations) to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Proven systems engineering and problem-solving skills in an integrated team environment
• Ability to define high-level requirements and understand implications for low-level software specifications
• Experience with requirements development, management, and traceability
• Ability to earn the trust of clients and influence leadership and technical resources

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in regulated industries such as defense or aerospace
• Technical education or experience in space vehicle engineering disciplines
• Experience using industry-leading requirements management tools (DOORS Classic/DNG, JAMA)
• Knowledge of AS 9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Knowledge of Configuration Management
