About The Position

The RF Systems/Hardware Engineer at Raytheon Technologies will be responsible for providing engineering analysis, baseline management, operations and maintenance, system enhancement, and integration support for a complex high-priority operational communications system. This role involves troubleshooting system outages, documenting issues, and ensuring the successful operation and sustainment of hardware associated with the system. The engineer will also establish requirements for new software and hardware enhancements and support the development of operational processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) RF ground systems engineering activities for a satellite communications system.
  • Proficient use of Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes.
  • Experience generating, analyzing, tracking, and managing requirements.
  • Experience with RF systems engineering, developing and maintaining schematics, analysis, block diagrams, system Bill of Materials (BOMs), and design review packages.
  • Ability to apply previous knowledge to provide recommendations for new operational concepts and architecture.
  • Ability to provide occasional after-hour call-in support and support emergency repair trips with little or no advanced notice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical ability to identify and document RF capability enhancements through White Papers and other submissions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with vendors for timely repair and tracking of critical operational hardware.
  • Experience upgrading hardware supported by Windows and Linux based systems.
  • Previous experience working with systems supported by Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve system outages and issues during operation.
  • Collect diagnostic data and accurately document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
  • Restore system operation and develop workarounds as necessary.
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis and troubleshooting of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Utilize analytic devices such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers for troubleshooting.
  • Monitor equipment functioning and make modifications to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support the generation of concept of operations and provide recommendations for system architecture.
