About the position

At Raytheon, we are committed to helping our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. Our System Engineering Directorate plays a crucial role in Mission Systems Integration activities, focusing on defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team, specifically for the SPY-6 Family of Radars and the GhostEye family of radars. This position will involve executing integration and analysis activities, identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying that these solutions are implemented as designed. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying solutions and results to teammates and leadership. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing concepts of operations for radar systems, radar processing algorithm development, and radar software requirements development. Additionally, the role will involve statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data, analysis tool development to support problem identification and resolution, and collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions. Presenting findings and solutions to leadership and customers will also be a key aspect of this role. The position requires daily on-site support and is not open to hybrid or remote possibilities, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments
  • Design experience in radar system areas such as antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
  • Masters/PhD in a STEM field
