About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability and efficient operation of a company's computer systems. This role involves designing and implementing network architecture, monitoring system performance, managing projects, providing technical leadership, defining system requirements, and ensuring compliance with information systems goals and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing network architecture and system infrastructure, and maintaining software and operating systems.
• Monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality and troubleshooting errors and inefficiencies.
• Managing projects, including budgets, supervising staff, and training new systems engineers.
• Providing technical leadership by mentoring junior staff and escalating complex problems to management.
• Working with stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals.
• Ensuring compliance with information systems goals and procedures.
• Developing schedules for equipment to maximize utilization.
• Establishing and implementing IT policies and procedures.
• Managing assets, backup/restore operations, and preventive maintenance.
• Providing technical leadership for the use of internal data processing and automated office systems.

Requirements

• Proficiency in frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Framework, React, and jQuery.
• Proficiency in messaging frameworks like RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Active MQ.
• Understanding of design patterns.
• Experience with third-party API integration.
• Experience in a similar role or significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to perform the responsibilities listed.
• Relevant education and/or training is considered a plus.
