About the position

This position is a critical role within Questel's Global Information Technology department, responsible for designing, building, and supporting enterprise production and disaster recovery environments. The role involves managing both on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across various systems. The individual will collaborate with global IT resources and be available for after-hours support, contributing to the company's international growth and technological advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and operate high-quality production systems and processes
  • Maintain and upgrade current IT infrastructure, including servers, network, storage, desktops, cloud, DR environment
  • Utilize scripting (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash, Shell, etc.) to optimize and automate system functions and tasks
  • Design, implement, and test new and replacement enterprise systems and infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware-related issues involving daily interaction and staff
  • Be on-call for after-hours systems issues to support international offices activities - 24/7 availability
  • Develop IT-related software tools and solutions which will be used internally by employees
  • Manage user accounts and employee-accessible systems
  • Occasional global travel to other offices may be required
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, experience and training
  • 10+ years professional Information Technology or similar industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of computer server hardware components and maintenance
  • Experience with Dell server hardware and remote management systems
  • Knowledge of virtual hosting technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux systems
  • Experience with Citrix XenDesktop/Xenapp/Netscaler VDA/VDI products
  • In-depth understanding of Active Directory/Entra, LDAP domains and components
  • Strong knowledge in operating systems and systems management
  • Programming/Scripting language experience (PowerShell, C++/C#, Python, Perl, VBScript)
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN and internet connectivity, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Experience with Universal Communications/VOIP (Microsoft Exchange, Teams, Office 365)
  • Demonstrated skills in project management, negotiations, and problem-solving
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High motivation and willingness to take initiative
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to discuss highly technical concepts to various audiences
  • Fluent in English

  • Experience with ITIL frameworks, SLA's, and service concepts
  • Relevant Industry Certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Citrix)
  • Experience configuring and supporting routers, firewalls, switches, NAS systems
  • Networking experience (Cisco, Extreme), Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Sonicwall, Fortinet), Storage (Netapp)
  • Experience with network monitoring and security products
  • Experience managing and maintaining Azure and/or AWS Cloud Environments
  • Containerization and Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu)
  • Experience with SOC2/ISO 27001 auditing or other standards-based auditing certifications
  • Fluency in a second language, other than English
