About the position

The Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer will be part of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team at Raytheon, focusing on supporting the daily execution of activities on a complex satellite ground system. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting software system execution problems, and working in a classified lab environment. The engineer will engage with internal and external stakeholders, support operational software deliveries, and perform on-site triage and support during business hours, with after-hours on-call expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular updates to the on-site SETA team via a daily status page and in-person engagements
• Support weekly SETA and team lead technical tag-ups
• Support Change Management Board meetings as needed
• Provide technical SME support as an on-site E2 Systems Integration & Test Engineer
• Work in a classified lab on site
• Work in an Agile program environment

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in (STEM)
• Experience working on-site in a badgeless environment with multiple stakeholders
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems
• Experience with systems engineering principles and activities
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI with Poly security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
• Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations)
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Test Automation experience (Cucumber, Gherkin, home-grown)
• Experience with Java, C++, or Python
• Experience with Linux operating system
