About the position

The Senior Data Analyst at JHNA will support Army Aviation customers by conducting in-depth data analysis to drive insights for Science & Technology (S&T) projects. This hybrid role requires 2-3 days on-site at Fort Eustis, VA, and involves travel to various CONUS Army Test Sites. The analyst will work closely with program leads and technical experts to define data requirements and establish metrics for assessing technical progress in military aviation testing.

Responsibilities

  • Determine efficient and effective ways to collect desired data and assess it for relevance.
  • Identify data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies through detailed analysis.
  • Manage and perform data analysis using mathematical, statistical, econometric, and scientific methods.
  • Develop, write, and edit reports, manuals, briefs, and proposals, focusing on test plans and reports.
  • Research technologies and operational environments to inform data collection and analysis.
  • Apply advanced principles and theories to solve complex problems.
  • Conceptualize and develop solutions, formulate problem statements, and develop analysis methods.
  • Write a Data Management and Analysis Plan (DMAP) including metrics creation.
  • Develop test cards for collecting test data from operators.
  • Collaborate with vendors to format and collect engineering data for test objectives.
  • Work with Government test and technical experts to shape tests for data collection.
  • Employ accepted analysis and data reduction tools, proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present data effectively.
  • Develop tabular and graphical results to support test findings.
  • Package analytic results in report format and present oral briefings.
  • Write technical reports and brief findings to Government leadership.
  • Deliver products aligned to standards regarding clarity, conciseness, and style.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a STEM area.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Knowledge of the Aviation Test and Evaluation community, preferably Army T&E background.
  • Formal training in Operation Research and Systems Analysis (ORSA) or Data Science with 5 years of experience (10 years of ORSA/Data Analyst experience may substitute).
  • Experience preparing formal technical documentation for Government approval.
  • Familiarity with Data Item Deliverables, S&T processes, and military aviation systems.
  • Knowledge of document configuration management and knowledge management processes.
  • Ability to perform duties with general supervision and use independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experimental test pilot or test engineer experience.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting S&T testing.
