About the position

The Senior Tableau Report Developer/ETL will serve as a Lead Developer, participating in various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements verification, design, development, testing, maintenance, and support. The role focuses on supporting existing .NET applications and participating in the development of a new SACWIS system, ensuring knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance. The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining Tableau reports, developing ETL solutions, and collaborating with business analysts and users to validate requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop Tableau Reports.
• Assist in the design and development of database architecture including relational data structures, data marts, data dictionaries, and logical and physical data models.
• Develop strategies for data acquisitions, data quality, and data discrepancy.
• Assist in migration and integration of data and processes from legacy systems to new applications and technologies.
• Develop and maintain efficient, well-documented custom SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers using Microsoft T-SQL.
• Access data stored in various database management systems such as DB2 and SQL Server.
• Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT solutions for data ingestion, cleansing, and distribution.
• Implement Data Analytics best practices in designing data modeling and ETL pipelines.
• Coordinate with Business Analysts and users to validate requirements.
• Implement solutions to integrate external data with in-house data.
• Perform tests and validate data flows, preparing ETL processes according to business requirements.
• Design and implement a data conversion strategy from legacy to new platforms.
• Perform design validation, reconciliation, and error handling in data load processes.
• Optimize SSIS Package execution and SQL execution for performance.
• Design SSIS packages using data exchange tasks such as file transfer and secured file transfer.
• Involvement in all stages like requirements gathering, data mapping, data extraction, data loading, data testing, troubleshooting, documentation, performance optimization, and maintenance.
• Develop different kinds of reports using Tableau as per user requirements and deploy to report server or integrated SharePoint report server.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development and data management.
• 5+ years of experience with Tableau.
• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries.
• 5+ years of expertise with TSQL, SSRS, SSIS, or Talend.
• Experience debugging and improving query performance.
• Experience deploying SSIS packages using git check-in and setting up environmental variables.
• Experience with Transact-SQL and stored procedures.
• Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining Talend reports.
• Experience with code control/version using Team Foundation.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional analysis skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and meet tight deadlines.
