About the position

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our established CPA firm located in Durham, NC and Mebane, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting. This role involves working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals and small to medium-sized businesses, and requires the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively during the busy tax season.

Responsibilities

• Preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
• Performing compilation and financial statement preparation engagements
• Conducting tax planning and meeting with clients
• Bookkeeping and managing quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
• Responding to IRS, state, or county notices
• Meeting time constraints and deadlines
• Working independently and collaboratively with limited supervision

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of tax experience in public accounting
• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (preferred)
• Experience with Thompson Reuters Ultratax Tax Software, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks is a plus
