About the position

Ardent CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their fast-growing, completely virtual concierge CPA firm. The role focuses on providing tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals, business executives, and small businesses across the US. The firm emphasizes work-life balance, with a commitment to flexible scheduling and efficient work practices, aiming to avoid the rush of tax season while delivering high-quality service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex Forms 1040, including reconciling K-1 basis.
• Prepare complex small business returns such as Forms 1065, 1120, 1120S, and 990.
• Prepare complex, multi-state business and individual returns.
• Review and adjust financial statements for businesses.
• Advise business clients on accounting applications, tax planning, and understanding their financials.
• Maintain client relationships throughout the year, sharing knowledge and adding value to the client relationship.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience at a national, regional, or local firm.
• Experience preparing complex tax returns and financial statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient in a paperless environment using tax software.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is necessary.
• CPA license or EA preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ProConnect Tax Online is a plus.
• Knowledge of tax strategies to mitigate taxes for clients.
• High people skills and a desire to help clients.
