About the position

As a Senior Tax Accountant at our client’s dynamic, publicly traded company, you will be an integral part of a small, collaborative tax department located in the Naugatuck, CT area. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced and hands-on Tax Manager, allowing you to enhance your skills and knowledge in tax compliance, provision, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience, particularly from a Big 4 firm or a public company, and will be eager to advance their career in a supportive and engaging environment. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will also support the Tax Manager in preparing tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, conduct tax research, and provide analysis on various tax issues. Your responsibilities will include assisting with tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and maintaining organized tax records and documentation. Additionally, you will monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company, collaborating with internal departments to gather necessary information for tax filings. Participation in special tax projects may also be required, making this a diverse and engaging role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of tax experience, preferably with Big 4 or a public company.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and international tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with ASC 740 and its application.
