About the position

As a Tax Senior/Reviewer specializing in International Taxation, you will play a crucial role in our US-based accounting and tax services firm, which is dedicated to assisting European companies in expanding their operations in North America. Your expertise will be pivotal in navigating the complexities of international taxation, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic tax planning advice to our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of various tax returns, including those for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and high net worth individuals. Additionally, you will handle international tax forms and engage in research to address complex tax matters. Your role will also involve identifying tax planning opportunities and resolving tax controversies, making your contributions vital to our clients' success. In this position, you will be expected to train and mentor staff accountants, sharing your knowledge and expertise in tax matters. Your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, will be essential as you collaborate with team members and clients at all levels. With a focus on delivering high-quality service, you will leverage your extensive experience in tax planning, consulting, and compliance review across various industries. This full-time role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing you to balance remote work with in-office responsibilities in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of complex C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns
  • Preparation of complex high net worth individual returns
  • Preparation of international forms (e.g., 5471, 5472, 8865, etc.)
  • Review of mid-level complexity C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns
  • Review of mid-level complexity individual returns
  • Research and draft memorandum involving complex tax matters
  • Identify tax planning opportunities
  • Handle and resolve tax controversies
  • Training of staff accountants on tax matters

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of international income tax experience with a large corporation or major CPA firm
  • Bachelor's in Accounting and a CPA license; Master's in Taxation preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge in a wide range of industries with experience in tax planning, consulting, research, and compliance review for individual, corporate, and partnership clients.
