About the position

We are currently seeking an experienced candidate for an excellent career opportunity as a member of our accounting staff in our Metairie office. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with comprehensive understanding of tax regulations and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexities
• Tax planning for closely held businesses and individuals
• Review client's general ledger and prepare journal entries
• Review financial statements and accounting in QuickBooks
• Maintain client relationships
• Work closely with other staff, managers, partners on various aspects of client engagement

Requirements

• 3 - 5+ years of public accounting experience with a national or regional firm
• CPA exam eligible or actively working towards requirements for CPA certification
• Strong knowledge and experience in tax preparation and review
• Ability to focus in a fast-paced office environment with attention to detail
• Excellent writing and verbal skills required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated and detailed oriented
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
• Ability to handle multiple engagements simultaneously, while maintaining consistency and accuracy

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of QuickBooks desktop and online is a plus
• Knowledge of Lacerte is a plus
• Knowledge of CCH Prosystems Fx Engagement is a plus
