About the position

The Senior Tax Accountant will play a crucial role in providing tax services for a venture capital firm, focusing on preparing and planning tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and fiduciaries. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing income tax returns for various individual, partnership, and fiduciary returns for the family office.
  • Planning for and preparing quarterly income tax estimates and annual extensions for individual, partnership, and fiduciary returns for the family office.
  • Researching tax-related issues.
  • Responding to tax notices.
  • Assisting Tax managers with special projects on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or economics required; CPA a plus.
  • At a minimum, 4 years of experience preparing individual tax returns; ideal candidates will have some experience working with ultra-high net worth clients and will have prepared investment partnership and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Proficiency using CCH Axcess or ProSystems fx Tax, CCH Workpaper Manager, and BNA Income Tax Planner a plus.
  • Competency with Adobe and MS Office products, especially Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and technical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Highly motivated; a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledgeable about the venture capital industry and investments a plus.
