About the position

The Senior Tax Accountant will be a key member of the Tax Services team at a mid-sized law firm in Boston, responsible for the preparation and filing of various tax returns including fiduciary, charitable, partnership, and personal taxes. This role requires accuracy and timeliness in tax preparation, along with the ability to work independently on complex tax issues. The position offers hybrid work flexibility, allowing remote work two days a week during certain months, and may require extended hours during the busy tax season.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file fiduciary, charitable, partnership, and personal tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Provide backup support to the Tax Services team as needed.
  • Report directly to the Director of Tax Services.
  • Work independently on complex tax preparations with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 2-3+ years of professional experience in Taxation/Accounting, including co-op or internship experience.
  • Proven experience with all phases of tax preparation and problem analysis/resolution.
  • Ability to work on complex tax preparations with minimal direct supervision.
  • Experience with ProSystem-fx and Onesource Trust Tax software is preferred.
  • Experience working in public accounting is a plus.
