About the position

The Sr. Tax Research & Content Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that ONESOURCE™ applications and offerings are compliant with tax rules and laws across various complex jurisdictions. This position involves extensive research, configuration, ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and testing of tax-related content. The analyst will act as a subject matter expert and project point person, representing the Tax Research & Content team effectively in various projects and initiatives. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for developing training materials and providing training and mentoring to Tax Research & Content Associates and Analysts. They will conduct thorough research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations across a wide range of industries, particularly in demanding jurisdictions. The analyst will also need to anticipate and assess the impact of proposed regulatory developments to stay ahead of changes that could affect applications. Additionally, the analyst will model and implement support for new tax regimes, execute content changes, and ensure that all work is completed within prescribed deadlines. They will design and execute test scenarios to verify content accuracy, functionality, and usability, and correspond with tax authorities on complex matters. The role also involves researching, responding to, and resolving client issues in collaboration with Customer Support, contributing to the development of requirements for tax application features in partnership with Product Management, and providing recommendations on complex geospatial, tax, and legal issues in a manner that is understandable to non-tax professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Tax Research & Content as a subject matter expert on projects and initiatives.
  • Develop training materials and provide training/mentoring to Tax Research & Content Associates and Analysts.
  • Research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations across various industries.
  • Anticipate and assess the impact of proposed regulatory developments.
  • Model and implement support for new tax regimes and implement content changes.
  • Design and execute test scenarios to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and usability.
  • Correspond with tax authorities on complex matters.
  • Research, respond, and resolve client issues in partnership with Customer Support.
  • Contribute to the development of requirements for tax application features in partnership with Product Management.
  • Provide recommendations on complex geospatial, tax, and legal issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years indirect tax experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with tax calculation and compliance software (e.g. ONESOURCE™).
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to utilize online research tools (e.g. Checkpoint, Tax Analysts, WestLaw).
  • Ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write white papers on tax subjects.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Intermediate to advanced software skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Access).
  • Ability to work and learn independently with minimal supervision.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
