About the position

The Senior Tax Manager of Income Tax Reporting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and management of worldwide income tax provisions, ensuring compliance with ASC 740. This role involves accurate reporting of current and deferred tax liabilities and assets, managing uncertain tax positions, and coordinating tax footnote disclosures in financial statements. The position requires collaboration with external auditors and tax planning teams, as well as the implementation of tax provision software and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and management of quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provisions.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 740 and accurate reporting of current and deferred tax liabilities and assets.
  • Analyze and maintain schedules for deferred tax assets and liabilities, particularly regarding temporary differences.
  • Manage uncertain tax positions and provide proper documentation for tax contingencies.
  • Coordinate tax footnote disclosures in financial statements to comply with FASB ASU 2023-09.
  • Work with external auditors during financial statement audits to provide information and documentation related to income taxes.
  • Collaborate with tax planning teams to identify opportunities for tax savings.
  • Evaluate the tax implications of business changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, or international expansion.
  • Implement and enhance tax provision software to streamline reporting processes.
  • Develop and update internal controls related to tax provision processes.
  • Develop tax strategies and policies to ensure compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership to managers, supervisors, and/or individual contributors.
  • Accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams.
  • Develop departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities.
  • Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems leveraging resources within or outside the department.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in income tax reporting and compliance, particularly with ASC 740.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations at local and federal levels.
  • Experience in managing uncertain tax positions and tax footnote disclosures.
  • Ability to collaborate with external auditors and tax planning teams.
  • Proficiency in tax provision software and internal controls development.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams and departmental priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions from a tax perspective.
  • Familiarity with FASB ASU 2023-09 and its implications for tax reporting.
  • Advanced degree in taxation or accounting.
