About the position

The Senior Tech Business Analyst at AT&T is responsible for developing high-performance, distributed modeling tasks using Machine Learning and Data Science. This role requires senior-level experience and involves programming, testing, and debugging applications, as well as collaborating with data scientists to understand data conversion and presentation needs. The position operates in a highly agile environment and contributes to the overall solution by translating business issues into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Completes programming and documentation, and then performs testing and debugging of applications.
  • Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in distributed, large-scale analytics and visualization solutions.
  • Interacts with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded and presented.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and assess the impact and opportunity of new technologies to enable new capabilities.
  • Prepare deployment packages, artifacts, and develop reference and resource materials.
  • Review final technical design/solutions and support User Acceptance Testing.
  • Participate across the project lifecycle team to ensure requirements have been met to stakeholder specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering required.
  • Typically requires 3-5 years experience in Python, SQL, Data-Bricks, SnowFlake, Palantir Foundry, Docker, and Kubernetes under a distributed cloud environment.
  • Expertise in SDLC, applications and systems, and technical evaluation.
  • Subject matter technical knowledge within a discipline and sound understanding of technologies used at AT&T.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with JVM-based function languages including Scala and Java.
  • Experience with Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, PyCascading.
  • Knowledge of Apache Flink computing frameworks including Spark/Databricks and IBM InfoSphere Streams.
