About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. The Brand Ads Team is at the forefront of this mission, building technologies that unlock business growth potential through innovative advertising products. This team is responsible for several ad products, including reservation ads, auction ads, and content ads, which help advertisers and users increase brand awareness and achieve their business goals. We work on the end-to-end ads delivery tech stack, which encompasses ads bidding, ranking, and forecasting. We are seeking a highly experienced Engineer or Technical Lead Manager to lead our Brand Ads product teams. In this role, you will guide a talented group of engineers in developing world-class advertising products and technologies. Your contributions will directly impact billions of dollars in revenue and shape the industry's landscape by tackling complex technical challenges in infrastructure, algorithms, and machine learning. You will drive high-impact projects focused on generating significant revenue, lead efforts to solve intricate technical challenges, and build industry-leading solutions for ads forecasting, delivery, and measurement. As a leader, you will actively participate in product design, go-to-market strategies, and business decision-making processes. You will foster innovation by collaborating with TikTok's content and creator teams and employing cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI. This position is not just about technical expertise; it also requires a strong understanding of the advertising technology landscape and the ability to work closely with product and marketing teams to ensure alignment and success.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Deep domain knowledge in the field of advertising technology
  • Strong technical capabilities in infrastructure, data, or machine learning
  • Experience in ads bidding, ranking, and retrieval; ads forecasting is a strong plus
  • Expertise in large-scale ads delivery, recommendation, and search is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of working closely with product and product marketing teams is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's or PhD preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including experience in a leadership role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
