About the position

The Senior Technical Accountant at Cribl will play a crucial role in the finance team, focusing on diagnosing and resolving complex technical accounting issues while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls. This position requires collaboration with various departments and external partners, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong analytical and communication skills. The role is remote-first, emphasizing a culture of empowerment and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical accounting issues quickly and accurately, documenting accounting positions in memorandums.
• Communicate technical findings and solutions to management and participate in discussions with external auditors.
• Assist in the development and documentation of effective internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, tax, legal, engineering, and technical program management to provide accounting guidance.
• Proactively analyze new and proposed accounting standards, determine the impact on the Company, and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards as required.
• Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable GAAP and disclosure requirements.
• Review significant vendor agreements.
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation for technical accounting sections.
• Assist in operationalizing any changes associated with new transactions or new and proposed accounting standards.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 4+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles.
• Proven experience in an accounting advisory consulting practice, or industry experience in a technical accounting role.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex accounting issues effectively and efficiently.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain complex accounting topics to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

• SaaS industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
