About the position
The Sr. Technical Accountant position at Cribl is a key role within the finance team, focused on diagnosing and resolving complex technical accounting issues while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate will work closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, contributing to the development of effective internal controls and accounting policies. This remote-first role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and a proactive approach to accounting standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical accounting issues quickly and accurately, documenting accounting positions in memorandums.
- Communicate technical findings and solutions to management and participate in discussions with external auditors.
- Assist in the development and documentation of effective internal controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, tax, legal, engineering, and technical program management to provide accounting guidance.
- Proactively analyze new and proposed accounting standards, determining their impact on the company and assisting in their implementation.
- Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable GAAP and disclosure requirements.
- Review significant vendor agreements.
- Prepare financial statements and disclosures.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for technical accounting sections.
- Assist in operationalizing any changes associated with new transactions or new and proposed accounting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles.
- Proven experience in an accounting advisory consulting practice or industry experience in a technical accounting role.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex accounting issues effectively and efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally and explain complex accounting topics to non-accounting stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- SaaS industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
