About the position

The Senior Technical Accountant at Cribl is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and collaborating with various teams to provide accounting guidance. This role requires a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual who can effectively communicate technical findings and assist in the development of internal controls. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting and involves working closely with finance leadership and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical accounting issues quickly and accurately, documenting accounting positions in memorandums.
• Communicate technical findings and solutions to management and participate in discussions with external auditors.
• Assist in the development and documentation of effective internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, tax, legal, engineering, and technical program management to provide accounting guidance.
• Proactively analyze new and proposed accounting standards, determine the impact on the Company, and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards as required.
• Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable GAAP and disclosure requirements.
• Review significant vendor agreements.
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation for technical accounting sections.
• Assist in operationalizing any changes associated with new transactions or new and proposed accounting standards.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 4+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles.
• Proven experience in an accounting advisory consulting practice, or industry experience in a technical accounting role.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complete accounting issues effectively and efficiently.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain complex accounting topics to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

• SaaS industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
