About The Position

The position operates under supervision of the Lancaster Performing Arts (LPAC) Supervisor and is responsible for managing production needs for one or more of the following: audio, lighting, or scenic-rigging for touring, local and rental productions and events, overseeing lighting prehangs/restores, audio setups, load ins/load outs, general restores and maintaining backstage areas.

Requirements

  • Any equivalent combination of three or more years' education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
  • Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school majoring in Theatre Arts, Film, Television, or a related field, is desirable.
  • Time management and organizational skills for effective crew usage and show deadlines.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to effectively manage crew resources and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Stage Management for Concerts, Dance, and Theatre performances.
  • Working with crew and tour staff for all production load-in needs.
  • Oversee LPAC crew and Tour/Client staff for show operations.
  • Oversee crew for production load outs and presets for upcoming events.
  • Work with the Front of House staff for venue and Artist needs.
  • Application of safety standards for theatrical/event productions.
  • Assisting in setting stage audio plots, lighting plots and focus, or scenic design.
  • Safe operation of hydraulic personnel lift.
  • Safe counterweight rigging and fly rail operation skills.
  • Operational functions of Yamaha digital audio, ETC lighting, or counterweight rigging systems.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Assist in training Stage Assistants.
  • Application of general Safety standards for theatrical venue, fly rail and mechanical lift systems.
  • Deal tactfully and effectively with crew, tour staff, participants and the public.
  • Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions related to show advances, artist riders, and stage plots to ensure proper event preparation and execution.
  • Communicate and collaborate tactfully and effectively with crew members, tour staff, event participants, and the public to ensure smooth operations and positive interactions.
  • Ability to set and complete Artist and show goals with minimal supervision.
