About the position

The Senior Technical Illustrator at Contiem, Inc. is responsible for creating a variety of graphic types to support technical documentation, including operation, maintenance, repair, and user manuals for industrial and consumer products. This role requires a strong illustration background and the ability to develop animations and videos for eLearning. The position is integral to ensuring that complex product information is conveyed clearly and effectively to end users.

Responsibilities

• Develop a variety of graphic types to support operation, maintenance, repair, and user/installation manuals for a wide variety of industrial and consumer products.
• Create product illustrations, work with mechanical/engineering drawings, and modify existing graphics.
• Develop animations and short videos for eLearning and technical documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field.
• 10+ years' experience in technical illustration.
• 2+ years experience using SolidWorks Composer or Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and MS Word.
• Previous experience working with layout and graphic design.
• Animation experience.
• Ability to interpret product information and convey it within an illustration to provide clear, concise instruction for the end user.
• Excellent interpersonal and general business communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Organized and attention to detail.
• Proven success working and prioritizing in an environment that is driven by budget, scope and deadlines across multiple clients/projects.
• Proven success interacting with multiple clients, subject matter experts and project managers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with video editing and Adobe Premiere.
• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, ISO Draw, or CAD.
• Experience working in a client-facing capacity.
