About the position

CGI Federal is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee the delivery of cloud and container-based solutions for web applications supporting a Federal Government customer. This role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, managing project timelines, and optimizing application performance while ensuring compliance with security standards. The position requires a strong presence in the National Capital Region and offers a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development work for cloud and container-based web applications.
  • Report progress to Government leads and stakeholders at collaboration meetings.
  • Contribute to the design, testing, and deployment of applications with cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate web applications with back-end services and APIs, optimizing performance.
  • Ensure quality through automation in testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Present updates to Government leads and partners on application development progress.
  • Assist in distilling functional and non-functional requirements for applications.
  • Provide technical summaries to government program managers.
  • Collaborate with backend leads, database architects, and security officers to ensure secure data flow.
  • Maintain communication with Government and contractor leads on mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, mathematics, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Experience leading teams in building and modernizing web applications with data integration.
  • Experience with managed cloud services like AWS for authentication, data storage, and API integration.
  • Strong knowledge of web app development technologies including Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, PostgreSQL, Node.js, MongoDB, and Java.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for microservice applications.
  • Understanding of data security and privacy regulations relevant to web applications.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure tasks including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance.
  • Familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) STIGs guidance.
  • Knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800-53 security controls.
