About the position

The Senior Technical Planner for Aircraft Base Maintenance at United Airlines is responsible for managing aircraft heavy maintenance visits at both internal and vendor facilities. This role involves creating comprehensive work packages, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful maintenance operations, and utilizing data analysis to identify optimization opportunities. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and effective communication to support maintenance activities and improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage aircraft heavy maintenance visits at internal and vendor facilities.
  • Build work packages that include all critical maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with Materials, Tooling, and Engineering teams to ensure successful maintenance visits.
  • Support the maintenance station while the aircraft is being serviced.
  • Ensure the successful release of the aircraft post-maintenance.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Create and deliver on-time maintenance packages within budgeted labor hours and costs.
  • Modify work packages to accommodate changes in hangar plans or additional work.
  • Communicate proactively with various stakeholders about maintenance events and revisions.
  • Review post-visit information and analyze historical data for improvement opportunities.
  • Host routine meetings with stakeholders to plan and track maintenance visits.
  • Utilize data to recommend and implement improvements to Base Planning processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least two years of experience in aircraft maintenance, maintenance planning, supply chain, or relevant experience.
  • Two years of experience in aircraft maintenance, maintenance planning, supply chain, engineering, or relevant aviation experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of planning or management experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning.
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance or Engineering.
  • Project planning experience.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement principles and tools.
  • Data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques.
