About the position

Cisco is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager for Network Security within the Catalyst Routing & SDWAN team. This role focuses on leading the development of integrated networking security solutions that align with Cisco's Routing, SDWAN, and Security Services Stack. The position is pivotal in reshaping the wide-area-networking business by centralizing security policy definitions and implementing them across a distributed network, particularly as Cisco transitions to a software-focused strategy with enhanced security integration.

Responsibilities

  • Define product requirements and strategies aligned with customer needs and market trends for network security solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop security features.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches and go-to-market strategies.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and understand their security needs.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to improve security offerings.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and technologies to keep products ahead of the curve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience, or Master's degree + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years.
  • Product Management experience, including defining product requirements, managing product backlogs, and driving product strategy.
  • Experience within network security, specifically developing and delivering security features and solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work closely with engineering to understand technical tradeoffs and their impact on the product.
  • Ability to code is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to bring together insights from customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to ensure the best product experience.
  • Effective communication to any audience (company leadership, engineering, customers, etc.) is key to success in this role.
