About the position

As a Senior Technical Product Manager on the Partner Experience team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, you will play a crucial role in connecting research and software strategies to technical solutions that enhance collaborative experiences. Your focus will be on improving technology-based experiences for partners, advocating for enhancements through design, documentation, and training recommendations. You will work across various research areas and with external partners to define and prioritize technical direction and roadmap, ensuring the delivery of shared goals.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create technical plans, reports, or recommendations for IDM's partner engagement experience.
  • Support a framework for prioritizing and evaluating the projected impact of collaborative work.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to advocate for improvements in IDM's collaborative goals.
  • Develop decision criteria to extend existing or engineer new systems.
  • Determine success measurement criteria and share results broadly.
  • Identify and describe the unique needs of diverse external collaborators.
  • Collaborate with IDM teams and external partners to recommend strategies that address collaboration challenges.
  • Advise on technology-based solutions that support collaborative experiences.
  • Act as the voice-of-the-customer to recommend improvements to IDM-designed software.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the Partner Experience team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related scientific field.
  • 8+ years of experience in research and software partner development.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering (design, development, release, and sustaining).
  • Demonstrated analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering processes and resources required for code deployment.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a partner-centric approach.
  • Experience fostering collaborative relationships with diverse partners.
  • Experience overseeing concurrent initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to different audiences.

Nice-to-haves
