About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager for Data Center Engineering at Amazon's AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for overseeing the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost for customers. The position requires engaging with stakeholders to gather insights, defining product requirements, and managing the complete product lifecycle from conception to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal and external Amazon customers and support teams to gain insights and capture critical mechanical, electrical and utility needs for the business today and in the future
  • Utilize insights to identify specific product requirements, create a product vision, and own the product development roadmap for critical segments of the data center physical infrastructure
  • Coordinate between multiple teams to develop compelling business cases to substantiate business value, define product prioritization, and outline budget and resources required to implement product roadmaps
  • Drive continuous advancements and improvements within data center designs, and communicate technical solutions to Senior Management
  • Own and drive the complete product lifecycle from idea conception through implementation and wide scale deployment to eventual deprecation
  • Develop product features and deployment strategies to improve performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency of new applications and use cases
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to leadership to propose solutions and fully inform risk decisions
  • Work independently in a high-performing environment with all levels of leadership and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Master's Degree
