About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager for Financial Products at Remitly is responsible for overseeing the integration of finance systems across various teams, managing the launch of a multi-product ledger system, and facilitating design changes to enhance automation and efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical project management skills and the ability to collaborate with senior engineers and product managers to drive the success of financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the launch of a financial ledger system to support all of Remitly.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and other partners to define the direction for the vNext Finance Data Platform.
• Contribute to the evolution of project management processes for all engineering teams at Remitly.
• Promote project management best practices and show leadership in this area.
• Grow junior Technical Program Managers.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of technical project management experience including leading development of reliable, available, and scalable distributed systems (preferably related to big-data or financial systems).
• Experience building great relationships with partners such as Product Managers, Analysts, Accountants, or Data Scientists.
• Experience building complex technical roadmaps with many dependencies across multiple Director level organizations and then accomplishing those plans.
• Experience making difficult tradeoffs, balancing short and long-term priorities.
• Experience mentoring junior Technical Program Managers.
