About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager for GREF Tech is responsible for managing large, complex technology initiatives that enhance the workspace experience for Amazon's Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF). This role involves developing strategies for programs from concept to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing technologies like AI and AWS IoT to optimize operations. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with strong technical and analytical skills, capable of making data-driven decisions and building trust with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large, complex technology initiatives across multiple teams and organizations in a global environment.
  • Develop overall strategy for large programs from concept to delivery.
  • Assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, and identify resources as needed.
  • Develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Communicate ideas effectively to a wide range of audiences including engineers, Directors, and VPs.
  • Define projects, collect requirements, and write detailed specifications.
  • Coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new feature sets.
  • Analyze cost/benefit of feature selection and communicate results throughout the organization.
  • Lead projects independently and deliver expert-level solutions based on thorough analysis of business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and assess the right balance of risk.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
