About the position

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Project Kuiper, you will play a critical role in managing the production roadmap for satellite technology aimed at increasing global broadband access. This position involves collaborating with various teams across hardware, software, supply chain, and more to ensure the successful development, integration, and testing of satellite systems. You will be responsible for establishing processes, measuring performance, and driving operational excellence to meet ambitious production goals.

Responsibilities

• Own the satellite production roadmap that delivers end-to-end solutions for sourcing, building, testing, and launching satellites.
• Establish linkage between production roadmap and annual goals, creating tools to measure and optimize projects.
• Represent the production roadmap in assessing technical trades related to innovation, speed, manufacturability, cost, stability, and trust.
• Understand dependencies between roadmap projects, synchronize milestones, and identify constraints to unblock and deliver the roadmap.
• Create new tools and business processes that simplify and standardize operational excellence across the production value stream.
• Develop and own tooling to create operational rhythms for all Kuiper Operations teams.
• Execute a strategic plan defining how teams will deliver on forward-looking production plans.
• Partner with business teams on scalable approaches to meet demand and enable growth.
• Develop and manage the program level Production Ramp schedule for project timeline tracking and synchronization.
• Drive the creation and adoption of scalable, standardized processes across supply chain, manufacturing, and launch functions.
• Drive executive communication cadence and deliver insights into operations activities, accomplishments, challenges, and risks.
• Establish and own reporting mechanisms and operating rhythms.
• Measure, analyze, improve, and control KPIs across all operations aspects.
• Drive year-over-year optimization opportunities in operations, including manufacturing and sourcing.
• Provide feedback to tech teams regarding cost-inefficient approaches.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
• Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams and building sustainable processes.
• Experience defining KPIs/SLA's for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
• Exposure and comfort with leadership level review.
• Executive level presentation skills.
• Experience as part of PMO teams.
