About the position

The Senior Technical Program Manager at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the IT delivery plans of technical solutions across enterprise data platforms. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end project management of technical products, ensuring that all changes align with initiative outcomes, and managing projects that may include network, server, or software implementations and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for project management of larger initiatives/projects with medium complexity.
  • Define and manage project scope, schedule, cost, and quality, monitoring day-to-day progress and execution.
  • Measure project performance using tools and techniques aligned with company methodologies to achieve short and long-term goals.
  • Lead projects with notable risk and complexity, developing strategies for project execution.
  • Solve complex problems and provide new perspectives on existing solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience.
  • Two or more years of project management experience in technology and/or business functions.
  • Experience with project management methodologies or SDLC (systems development life cycle).
  • Working knowledge of project management/agile tooling.
  • Proficient understanding of Cloud Computing (AWS/Azure/Google).
  • Proficient knowledge of data warehousing principles in cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
