About the position
The Senior Technical Project Manager at Tesla, Inc. is responsible for leading cross-functional teams in various project management activities, including design reviews, functional testing, and resource alignment. This role emphasizes continuous monitoring of project processes, risk management, and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with Tesla's operational speed.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in design reviews, functional testing, and installation.
- Monitor and measure project processes to identify potential issues and provide corrective actions.
- Utilize manufacturing and controls engineering knowledge to solve commissioning issues.
- Identify and manage major risks and dependencies in projects.
- Track and eliminate blockers to maintain project momentum.
- Build and maintain strong relationships for effective communication.
- Drive and contribute to FMEA processes for controls and systems design.
- Create and implement advanced product development and execution plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Two years of experience as a Program or Project Manager leading manufacturing engineering projects, or a Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in project management with complex cross-functional teams.
- Experience in greenfield factory commissioning projects.
- Proficiency in Agile methodology, schedule management, and Jira.
- Strong problem-solving skills including root-cause analysis and action plan development.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or Confluence.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals related to PLC function block and delta V DCS development.
