About the position

The Sr. Technical Project Manager at Lucid Motors will play a crucial role in supporting the Powertrain Development and Engineering (PDE) team by managing highly technical and time-sensitive projects related to electric powertrain products. This position involves organizing requirements, performing cost-benefit analyses, and ensuring alignment with facility updates and project execution schedules. The role requires a strong focus on risk mitigation, technical documentation, and optimizing facility capabilities to enhance powertrain development.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize EV powertrain test and build requirements to support lab equipment establishment.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis of high-value equipment.
  • Support project engineers by providing validated milestones and requirements that align with facility and powertrain program timelines.
  • Align with facility updates and integrate with project execution schedules.
  • Maintain a continuous risk mitigation process.
  • Collect technical and commercial variables to support planning and decision-making for lab implementations.
  • Process change management due to unforeseen development requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed library of technical documentation.
  • Devise strategic plans to optimize existing facility and equipment capabilities for powertrain development projects.
  • Develop and implement tools to optimize processing and sharing of technical details.
  • Determine resource requirements and potential impacts.
  • Evaluate workmanship of designers and contractors to suggest critical improvements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a master's degree.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to study and understand electrical and electronic schematics and layouts.
  • Exposure to automotive test equipment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience working with facility planners and contractors to estimate and deploy test labs.
  • Experience utilizing planning tools for timelines, budget, risk management, and communication.
  • Ability to develop and optimize equipment layouts.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to translate equipment specifications and requirements to facility capability.
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • EV Test Experience.
  • Familiarity with fabrication and assembly of fixtures and wiring.
  • Managing multiple highly visible and time-sensitive projects in parallel.
  • Implementation of powertrain labs from inception to operation.
  • Experience working on projects that require building permits.
  • Knowledge of architectural and structural disciplines.
