About the position

The role involves acting as the interface between Powertrain Engineering and Vehicle Programs at Lucid Motors, ensuring alignment between powertrain product roadmaps and vehicle programs. The position requires leading the engineering integration process for high voltage powertrain products, managing cross-functional teams, and driving key decisions that impact system delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining schedules, budgets, and performance targets while fostering strong partnerships across various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the interface between Powertrain Engineering and Vehicle Programs.
  • Maintain schedules and ensure alignment between powertrain product roadmaps and vehicle programs.
  • Lead the engineering integration process for HV powertrain products.
  • Manage a cross-functional engineering team including battery systems, mechanical & electrical hardware, embedded software, prototype build, test & validation, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Responsible for budget, timing, and accomplishment of performance targets related to Powertrain vehicle integration and quality.
  • Develop and maintain the product development timeline and resource requirements.
  • Drive engineering activities at the Powertrain integration level in accordance with the development timeline.
  • Drive key decisions impacting system delivery, including technical, project timing, and supplier decisions.
  • Take ownership and drive resolution of blockers to successful product delivery.
  • Communicate key technical decisions and issues to executive management.
  • Chair the technical change review meeting to establish balanced solutions within program scope.
  • Confirm component and system designs and verification/validation testing are completed efficiently.
  • Own the powertrain bill-of-materials delivered to vehicle general assembly.
  • Develop and maintain the powertrain roadmap and its impacts on technical specifications, validation testing, and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in automotive engineering product development.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage powertrain systems and architectures.
  • Experience in systems approach to engineering product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in building and managing program management tools and processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a complex cross-functional environment.
  • Strong organizational and delegation skills with a track record of delivering projects on-time.
  • Ability to inspire confidence in executive members and engineering project teams.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to drive decisions using data and metrics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electric vehicle technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the automotive industry.
