As the Senior Technical Project Manager, you will work in conjunction with the team's Technical Lead to lead a small Agile team responsible for migrating a customer's legacy Java application to a modern cloud-based architecture running on MongoDB. The team will use the latest genAI tools and approaches to accelerate the migration process. You will also be responsible for liaising with customers and internal stakeholders, managing concerns and potential resolutions, and guiding the team towards success. The Agile team will be required to be innovative in deriving solutions to unseen challenges, and you will foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team. This role can be based remotely in Central or Eastern time zones, or in a flexible working model if near an office location.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small Agile team responsible for migrating a customer's legacy Java application to a modern cloud-based architecture running on MongoDB.
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders, managing concerns and potential resolutions.
• Guide the team towards success while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Support a project team consisting of onsite, co-located, and remote team members.
• Proactively identify and remove impediments to project progress.
• Manage project risks and issues effectively.
• Define and refine the project team's 'Way of Working'.
• Streamline communications between the project team and project stakeholders.
• Manage expectations of project stakeholders, primarily leaders within the organization.
• Create plans and priorities for both project delivery and customer resources.
• Establish and lead recurring project status or governance meetings, preparing materials and collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Report project status concisely and document project progress according to best practices.
• Manage escalations or critical situations as they arise.
• Assist with scoping of solutions and project scope definition.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience with enterprise-scale software solutions, large-scale software engineering or consulting services delivery experience preferred.
• Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills, with the ability to present to different audiences in a concise, professional manner.
• Demonstrated belief in the power of stakeholder management and communications; track record of affecting change through stakeholder engagement.
• Services delivery experience with development or operation teams is a plus.
• Ability to travel and work on customer sites for a number of continuous weeks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a SCRUM master.
• Experience in managing projects with a high degree of uncertainty (research and innovation).
• Experience in delivering software development projects, ideally modernization of a legacy application.
• Experience with JIRA / Project tools.
